Q&A

What inspired you to become a therapist?

Throughout my lifetime, I have personally seen how traumatic experiences can impact individuals and communities. This led me to having a strong desire to be an advocate and a source of knowledge for individuals who have experienced traumatic events and suffering from symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. My passion for helping individuals find relief and joy again has led me to acquire education and training in evidenced based treatments such CPT, PE, and EMDR. Β I believe that life is to be experienced in its fullest and when an individual experiences trauma, it can be difficult to find joy again. Β I have a strong desire to empower and equip individuals with the tools necessary to bring stability and happiness back into their lives.

What do you feel are your greatest strengths?

I have a strong ability to foster and build strong therapeutic relationships with clients. I believe a strong therapeutic alliance and strong collaborative alliance aids in the recovery of PTSD. My ability to create a collaborative environment and my strong adherence to evidenced based treatments helps me tailor PTSD therapy to unique needs of each client. Β  Β

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to leave sessions feeling valued, validated and supported. This creates a warm and collaborative environment in which the client can bring their full authentic self with them to sessions. Not only can clients expect an attentive and compassionate therapist who will provide a safe space for learning and expression of self, but also a therapist who will hold them accountable and help them achieve their therapeutic goals.
