Q&A

What inspired you to become a therapist?

I wanted to enter into a profession where I was walking alongside individuals in the process of change, growth, and healing. As a dancer/mover I have experienced the importance of the mind/body connection and how bringing both our brains and our bodies into the therapy space can increase our overall wellbeing. I have worked in the field of eating disorders for the past 5 years and have witnessed the resilience and hope that is alive even in an individuals' most challenging moments. As a therapist I feel grateful to be able to hold space for individuals and witness their process of change.

What do you feel are your greatest strengths?

My greatest strengths are my empathy, authenticity, and passion for growth and change. I believe that our emotions can guide us in powerful ways and am excited to share that with my clients who may have avoided or pushed away their emotions in the past. I have experienced how powerful it is to have someone sit beside you really challenging moments and emotions, and I hope to bring this into therapy. My intention is to show up authentically and compassionately in any space, including in the therapeutic relationship.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect a warm, welcoming space in which to explore and process emotions and thoughts. I invite clients to bring their whole self and all identities they may hold into the therapy space so that we can together identify their strengths and resources. I try to balance validation with challenging unhelpful thought and belief patterns to walk alongside clients in creating change.
