Dr. Chard is the Co-inventor of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a gold-standard treatment for PTSD.
Dr. Kate Chard is one of the authors of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and an internationally recognized expert in PTSD. Dr. Chard is a master trainer for CPT and oversees much of CPT training worldwide. Dr. Chard provides expertise in reviewing Nemaβs clinical delivery program. She also provides CPT consultation to all Nema therapists.Β
In addition to her role at Nema, Dr. Chard is Associate Chief of Staff for Research and Director of the Trauma Recovery Center at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. Dr. Chard has personally trained over 10,000 clinicians throughout the world on using CPT with veterans, active-duty personnel, and civilians. She has also served as a past editor of the Journal of Traumatic Stress and is a professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Cincinnati.
